The Kospi suddenly turned downward during trading today (the 3rd) and fell back to the 6,400 range.
As of 2:30 PM, the Kospi is down 72.09 points, or 1.10%, from the previous session at 6,490.63.
The index started the session at 6,650.33, up 87.61 points, or 1.33%, from the previous session.
After briefly adjusting its gains, it expanded its upward momentum again, reaching as high as 6,682.97 during the session.
The increase compared to the previous session was 1.83%.
However, around 2:00 PM, it suddenly turned into a steep decline.
Within just about 10 minutes, it plummeted to 6,439.49, marking a 1.88% drop compared to the previous session.
It showed an unusual movement, plunging nearly 4 percentage points from a 1.83% gain at its intraday high to a 1.88% drop.
In the main bourse, retail investors are net sellers, offloading 544.7 billion won.
Foreigners and institutional investors are also net sellers, offloading 512.8 billion won and 412.2 billion won, respectively.
On the other hand, other corporations alone are in a net buying position of 1.4731 trillion won.
At the same time, the Kosdaq index is down 17.46 points, or 2.17%, at 786.52.
