Director Lee Chang-dong of the Netflix film "Possible Love" has been invited to the Spotlight program of the 49th Mill Valley Film Festival and has simultaneously been selected as the first Korean to win the Auteur Award.

Organized by the California Film Institute, the Mill Valley Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the United States. The Spotlight program, to which "Possible Love" has been invited, highlights the latest works of artists who have forged distinctive artistic worlds. The Auteur Award bestowed alongside this honors Director Lee Chang-dong's unique cinematic world and achievements.

This award follows his recent honor at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, where he received the TIFF Ebert Director Award, further proving his explosive global attention.

Alongside the award news, Netflix released the teaser poster for "Possible Love" on the 3rd.

"Possible Love" tells the story of a laid-off worker couple and a documentary director couple who meet for a project and confront each other's different lives and hidden desires. The teaser poster captures the subtle emotional lines of Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon), Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu), Sang-woo (Zo In-sung), and Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), drawing attention. The image of the four characters harboring their own gazes and thoughts on the beach at dawn stimulates curiosity.

"Possible Love," Director Lee Chang-dong's new work presented after 8 years, has been invited to the competition section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, which opened on the 2nd (local time), for its premiere screening. In Korea, it will be released in theaters on the 23th, followed by a release on Netflix on November 6.
