A rather shocking incident has taken place in Cheongju.

An incident involving a fifth-grade elementary school student assaulting a teacher has occurred, prompting educational authorities to launch an investigation.

According to the North Chungcheong Office of Education, a fifth-grade female student physically assaulted her homeroom teacher yesterday morning (September 2) in a classroom at an elementary school in Cheongju.

It was found that the student had hurled profanities the previous day during a diagnostic test, complaining that the test paper she received was "dirty," and then hurled insults and assaulted the teacher the next day when the teacher instructed her to retake the test.

The student, who receives psychiatric treatment, is known to have frequently used abusive language and exhibited aggressive behavior toward numerous teachers and students in the past.

Educational authorities have implemented emergency measures for the student, including immediate separation and suspension from school.

In addition, they dispatched school rights protection officers and inspectors to the school to verify the details of the incident while taking measures to protect the affected teacher and the other students in the same class.
