U.S. President Donald Trump stated regarding the recent resumption of strikes against Iran that they "won't last very long."

Speaking to reporters at the White House on September 2, local time, when asked how long the renewed strikes against Iran would last, President Trump responded, "I don't know how much longer they can hold out, but it doesn't matter how long that is."

"They were trying to rebuild their radar systems, their missile systems, their mine-laying systems," President Trump claimed. "They were trying to build rockets to lay mines."

He emphasized, "Because (the mine-laying rockets) were almost completed, we took them out. Last night's strike was a very powerful strike, and we are ready to launch another strike at any time we want."

Meanwhile, President Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social that day, "Now that the Strait of Hormuz is under U.S. control, should we change its name to the 'Trump Strait'?"

On August 30, the United States struck two missile launchers on Iran's Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, resuming armed conflict between the two sides after about a month.
