Former Korea Football Association (KFA) President Chung Mong-gyu, suspected of improperly interfering in the appointment of former national football team coach Hong Myung-bo, appeared before the police as a suspect today (September 2).

The Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's metropolitan investigation group has been questioning Chung, who faces charges including obstruction of business by deceit, starting from around 12:00 p.m. today.

The police are expected to investigate whether he intervened in the process of appointing former coach Hong and whether he exerted pressure on association executives or board members, such as former Technical Director Lee Lim-saeng, to secure Hong's appointment.
