Education authorities have launched an investigation after an elementary school student assaulted a teacher at a school in Cheongju.

According to reports on Tuesday, a 5th-grade student, identified as A, assaulted teacher B inside a classroom at an elementary school in Cheongju this morning.

Footage capturing the incident shows student A repeatedly punching teacher B in the face and head, as well as kicking her.

The motives behind the assault have not yet been disclosed.

School officials stated, "We are currently investigating the exact details of the incident."
