President Lee Jae-myung received a briefing on the tugboat capsizing accident off the coast of Oryukdo in Busan and instructed authorities to exert all-out efforts for rescue operations.
Kang Yu-jung, senior spokesperson for the presidential office, announced via a briefing that President Lee ordered the total mobilization of available resources to rescue lives.
President Lee also repeatedly urged officials to take thorough measures to handle the aftermath of the accident.
Around 1:30 p.m. today (the 2nd), a tugboat capsized off the coast of Oryukdo, Busan.
It is reported that about 10 crew members were on board the vessel.
The Korea Coast Guard has urgently dispatched personnel and equipment to the scene to conduct rescue operations.
