A man in his 20s has been apprehended by police for allegedly assaulting his 60-year-old mother, who is a convenience store owner, in front of a convenience store in Seoul's Jongno district.
The Jongno Police Station announced today (Sept. 2) that they are investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges including aggravated assault against a lineal ascendant and obstruction of official duties.
A is accused of throwing objects and assaulting his mother in front of a convenience store in Suseong-dong, Jongno-gu, the previous day.
It was reported that A had previously worked part-time at the convenience store owned by his mother.
A was arrested at the scene after violently resisting the police officers who responded to the report, including throwing punches at them.
Police are currently investigating the specific circumstances and motives behind the crime.
