A YouTuber who promoted a Telegram account for selling illegal drugs by tattooing it on his forehead and received money in return has been sentenced to prison.

Today (September 2), Judge Seo Young-woo of Criminal Division 12 at the Seoul Southern District Court sentenced a 29-year-old man surnamed Kim, who was indicted on charges including violations of the Narcotics Control Act, to two years in prison.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of 11,273,310 won.

The court pointed out, "The defendant used his influence as an online broadcaster with approximately 12,000 subscribers to post illegal information related to illegal gambling sites or narcotics," adding, "Given the massive impact, his culpability is not light, and he also has a prior record of drug use."

Kim was indicted on charges of promoting drug sales by tattooing the phrase "Drug King Telegram Inquiries" along with the account handler on his forehead.
