Actor Sul Kyung-gu recently shared his special connection and behind-the-scenes stories with actor Kim Minha.

During a press interview for the Netflix series "Mousetrap" (written by Lee Jae-gon, directed by Kim Hong-sun) held at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 2nd, Sul talked about the production and expressed his deep affection for Kim Minha, with whom he has maintained a long-standing relationship.

On this day, Sul playfully clarified how Kim Minha calls him and his wife Song Yoon-ah, referring to them as "Uncle Sul Kyung-gu" and "Unnie Song Yoon-ah." He laughed as he said, "I've known Minha since she was in the third grade of elementary school because of a close friendship with her parents. Back when I was very active, she naturally had to call me 'Uncle.'" He added, "As Minha grew up and got to know Song Yoon-ah comfortably, she started calling her 'Unnie,' and now she tells me to call me 'Oppa' instead of Uncle," bringing laughter to the scene.

In particular, Sul played a decisive role in guiding Kim Minha down the path of acting. Sul started by saying, "It's like a casual comment I threw out happened to work out."

He recalled the situation in detail, saying, "When Minha was young, she was really shy. She was introverted and couldn't even look people in the eye. But when we occasionally went to karaoke after drinking with her parents, I was truly shocked seeing Minha sing. As soon as the song started, her facial expressions completely changed and she enjoyed the stage. She was around the third year of high school back then, and I told her parents, 'What is up with her? Make her an actress.' Her mother said, 'Don't put ideas in a high school senior's head. Don't say such absurd things.'"

He continued, "Acting isn't only for extroverted people. Seeing how Minha's facial expressions completely transformed when she sang led me to suggest it, and she really changed her career path and became my university junior." He expressed his pride, saying, "These days, she has a much wider network in the industry than I do and knows everyone."

Based on the webtoon of the same name, "Mousetrap" is a tracking thriller depicting the story of novelist Mun-jae (Ryu Jun Yeol), who has his name, face, and life entirely stripped away by a mysterious existence called "Mousetrap," loan shark No-ja (Sul Kyung-gu) who tries to recover lost money, and detective Sun-yong (Lee Kyoo-hyung) as they chase the identity of Mousetrap. In the series, Sul plays No-ja, a loan shark who stops at nothing to achieve his goal, charmingly portraying a three-dimensional character that feels rough yet harbors a subtle human touch.

All 10 episodes of "Mousetrap" were released worldwide through Netflix on the 28th of last month. According to FlixPatrol on the 2nd, "Mousetrap" entered the global Top TV Shows at No. 6 just four days after its release and ranked No. 5 in Netflix's global TV shows non-English category, continuing its unstoppable global box office success.
