Internet broadcaster (BJ) Gwasjuseyeon (real name In Se-yeon, 25), who has been booked by police on charges of administering psychotropic substances, directly stated her position through a live broadcast on the same day the reports broke.

According to reports on September 1, three individuals, including Gwasjuseyeon and BJ BJ Kay (real name Park Jung-gyu, 36), were booked by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station on July 30 on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. They are under police investigation regarding the use of Zolpidem, a sleeping pill classified as a psychotropic drug.

Kay is also suspected of having an acquaintance obtain prescriptions for sleeping pills on his behalf and then receiving them. He admitted to being investigated for the charges during a personal broadcast on August 27.

Gwasjuseyeon hosted a personal broadcast on SOOP on September 1 to directly address the allegations that surfaced that day. She asked, "Have you all seen the articles that came out?" and explained, "The incident happened in June, but the articles came out almost two and a half months later."

While acknowledging that she was investigated alongside Kay, Gwasjuseyeon drew a line regarding suspicions of proxy prescriptions.

She emphasized, "It is not that I received proxy prescriptions; rather, oppa and I were investigated regarding a proxy prescription. That is a fact. People are saying I was investigated together because I received a proxy prescription, but that is not a fact." She went on to explain the context, saying, "Something happened with oppa, so I took a lot of the pills. Oppa's," and added that issues arose during the process of subsequently visiting the emergency room, leading to the investigation.

Seemingly conscious of potential suspicions surrounding her recently bleached hair—speculating it might be an attempt to evade investigation—she addressed this beforehand. Gwasjuseyeon claimed, "When I was already investigated, they cut 100 strands of my hair. It was when my hair was black. Since that is already in the past, bleaching has nothing to do with it (the test)."

Her romantic partner Kay also made an appearance during the broadcast. Kay entered Gwasjuseyeon's broadcast and publicly showed his support by gifting Star Balloons worth 1.25 million won.

As related questions continued, Gwasjuseyeon repeatedly emphasized her stance by displaying a message on her broadcast screen that read, "I did not do drugs. I did not get proxy prescriptions. I was investigated before bleaching my hair. I am sorry for causing concern."

Meanwhile, Gwasjuseyeon and Kay overcame an 11-year age gap and went public with their relationship in April.

Kay began broadcasting in 2012 and has approximately 700,000 subscribers, while Gwasjuseyeon started her internet broadcasting activities in 2019 and has about 300,000 subscribers. Gwasjuseyeon gained public recognition by appearing on the Netflix original variety show "The Influencer," and in 2024, she drew widespread attention after being spotted with HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk in the United States.
