The Coast Guard is conducting rescue operations after a vessel capsized off the coast of Busan.

At around 1:30 p.m. today (the 2nd), a 286-ton Busan-registered tugboat capsized in waters about 9 kilometers southeast of Oryukdo Island, Busan.

The vessel is known to have had eight crew members on board.

Among them, one person was rescued by a cargo ship passing through the accident area.

The Coast Guard has urgently dispatched personnel and equipment to the scene to carry out rescue operations.

Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo ordered, "Do your utmost to rescue lives by maximizing the mobilization of available rescue resources."
