Shinsegae Group is bringing the world-renowned luxury hotel brand Aman to Seoul.
This move is part of Chairman Jung Yong-jin's efforts to expand the luxury business, targeting the domestic high-end lifestyle market.
Shinsegae Property announced today (the 2nd) that it will develop "Aman Seoul" in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in partnership with Aman.
This marks the first time Aman is opening a property in South Korea.
Aman Seoul will be built across the area of 52-3 and 52-7 Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, spanning 8 floors below ground to 38 floors above ground, with a total floor area of approximately 70,000 square meters.
Built under the concept of an "urban sanctuary," the project will feature a hotel alongside 49 branded residences, retail spaces, and cultural areas.
It will also include the "Aman Club," featuring an exclusive members-only swimming pool, fitness center, and lounge.
Shinsegae Property will serve as the developer, overseeing the overall project planning and development, while Aman will participate in the architecture, design, and operations.
Key facilities—including the hotel, residences, and the members-only community Aman Club—will be operated by Aman through a long-term management contract.
Founded in 1988, Aman is a global luxury hospitality brand that has offered private spaces and services for a select clientele in major cities and resort destinations worldwide.
The plan for Seoul is to implement a complex lifestyle space combining not only a hotel, but also residences and a members-only club.
Aman Seoul is a project pursued following the likes of Aman Tokyo and Aman New York.
Aman is currently developing new projects in Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Dubai, and Singapore as well.
Previously, Chairman Jung signed an agreement to establish a joint venture with OKO Group, led by Aman Group Chairman Vlad Doronin, deciding to collaborate on the Aman Group's hospitality development business.
