Apple's incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO), John Ternus, 51, is set to receive a compensation package of $58 million (approx. 80 billion won) for the 2027 fiscal year, which begins in October.

Tim Cook, who has stepped down to become chairman of the board, will receive $47 million (approx. 65 billion won).

Apple disclosed this information on the 1st (local time), the first day of Ternus's tenure.

Ternus will receive a base salary of $3 million (approx. 4.1 billion won) and $55 million (approx. 75.3 billion won) in stock awards.

Of the stock awards, 75% are performance-based restricted stock units (RSUs) tied to the total shareholder return (TSR) relative to the S&P 500 index, and the remaining 25% are time-based RSUs vesting over four years.

Cook will receive a base salary of $2 million (approx. 2.7 billion won)—a $1 million reduction from his time as CEO—along with $45 million (approx. 61.6 billion won) in stock awards.

His stock awards are split evenly between performance-based and time-based shares.

During his 15 years leading Apple, Cook grew annual revenue to nearly $500 billion (approx. 685 trillion won) and drove Apple's stock price up by more than 2,200%.

Previously, Cook's compensation package for 2025 reached $74.3 million (approx. 102 billion won).

While compensation details from his former role as senior vice president of hardware engineering were not disclosed, Bloomberg reported that Apple typically pays its top executives roughly $25 million (approx. 34.5 billion won) annually in combined salary, stock, and bonuses.

Apple did not disclose the size of the cash bonuses Ternus and Cook are set to receive, but Bloomberg added that cash bonuses for Apple executives typically amount to about twice their base salaries.
