Lawmaker Yong Hye-in of the Basic Income Party, nominated as the Minister of Gender Equality and Family, avoided a direct answer when asked by reporters today (the 2nd) whether she would step down from her parliamentary seat, stating, "I will thoroughly prepare for the confirmation hearing."

Nominee Yong made the remarks while arriving at the confirmation hearing preparation office set up at the Korea Youth Work Agency in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

When asked by reporters about her intent to resign as a proportional representative, Yong responded, "I am well aware that a confirmation hearing is not just a space to speak alone, but a space to communicate with the public. I will prepare well for the hearing so that I can organize my thoughts and convey them clearly."

In response to a question asking whether she agrees with criticism that holding both a proportional representative seat and a ministerial position constitutes monopolizing privileges, she said, "I am listening to various opinions and hearing many concerns and worries. I will prepare well for the hearing so that I can properly articulate my stance and thoughts."
