Two oil tankers, including a vessel owned by South Korean shipping company Sinokor Merchant Marine, were reportedly struck in an attack while passing through the Strait of Hormuz on the 31st of last month local time, the Financial Times reported.

Citing maritime security analysts, the newspaper reported that Sinokor's owned ship, the Senegal Prosperity, and a Saudi Arabia-owned oil tanker, the Sidr, came under attack.

It added, however, that information such as the names of the ships has not been officially confirmed due to poor communications in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated in a notice that a vessel had been struck by three unidentified projectiles, but did not disclose the name of the ship.

Sinokor Merchant Marine has not yet responded to requests for confirmation regarding the vessel attack, according to the Financial Times.

The incident occurred amid ongoing military clashes between the U.S. and Iran, as Washington resumed attacks against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz after a month.
