Solo artist Sunmi's upcoming fan meeting in Shanghai, China, has been abruptly canceled just four days before the event, with organizers citing performance quality and operational issues.

Sunmi's agency, Abyss Company, announced through official social media channels today (Sept. 1), saying, "We have decided that it is important to provide an environment where both the artist and fans can feel secure and enjoy the event, and to deliver the level of performance originally promised. Following discussions with the local promoter, we regret to inform you that we have inevitably decided to cancel this Shanghai fan meeting."

Previously, Sunmi was scheduled to hold her fan meeting titled "Meet SUNMI in Late Summer" at NEOVANA in Shanghai on the 5th.

The agency emphasized, "As a result of a final review of local operations and overall preparations ahead of the event, we determined that the current state of preparation makes it difficult to sufficiently guarantee the stable event operation and high-quality fan meeting experience that we prioritize. We are sincerely sorry and heartbroken to deliver this sudden cancellation news to the fans who have sent their support for the fan meeting."

The agency added, "We will strive to create new opportunities for Sunmi to meet her fans in Shanghai again in a better setting with more thorough preparation. Once again, we ask for your deep understanding and offer our sincere apologies to all the fans who have been waiting for this fan meeting."

Reserved tickets will be fully refunded through the local promoter and official ticketing platforms.
