A Russian-flagged cargo ship that was attacked off the Russian coast drifted across the Black Sea and ran aground on a beach in Türkiye, according to the Turkish Demirören News Agency (DHA) on August 30.
The 108-meter-long vessel (OMSKIY-107) grounded on the Alakali beach in the Şile district of Istanbul.
People who witnessed the vessel approaching the coast immediately contacted local authorities, prompting a swift response from the Turkish Coast Guard, DHA reported.
The Ukrainian military has not released an official statement regarding the Russian ship grounded in Türkiye.
