The city of Los Angeles, United States, has designated September 1 through 9, local time, as "BTS Week" to commemorate the group BTS's world tour "ARIRANG."

BigHit Music announced that the city of Los Angeles held an official proclamation ceremony at City Hall on August 31, attended by officials from the City Council, the tourism board, and BigHit Music.

To celebrate "BTS Week," Los Angeles City Hall will be lit up in red on September 1, the signature color of the fifth album "ARIRANG."

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated, "The proclamation of 'BTS Week' reflects the belief that art and culture have the power to enhance mutual understanding and unite communities. We are proud to honor the incredible achievements of BTS, who have made profound contributions to global culture, and to celebrate their special bond with Los Angeles with people around the world."

Through a resolution, the Los Angeles City Council stated, "BTS has established itself as one of the most influential artists representing the current generation," adding that the group has paved the way for Korean and Asian singers in the global music industry, and that their messages of hope transcend language and culture to connect the world and contribute to spreading Korean culture.

Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee remarked, "This is a municipal tribute to the special footprints BTS has left on global culture," adding, "It also embodies the pride of celebrating the long-standing ties and cultural exchange between Los Angeles, Korea, and the Korean-American community."

BTS will perform on September 1, 2, 5, and 6 at SoFi Stadium, a major venue in Los Angeles, with all four shows sold out.

Previously, El Paso County in Texas, Illinois, and Toronto in Canada, where the "ARIRANG" concerts were held, also sequentially designated "BTS Week" or "BTS Day" to celebrate the concerts.
