
Netflix has confirmed the production of its new series 'Maderesa' and unveiled its star-studded casting lineup featuring Nana, Kim Dan, and Jung Gun-joo.
'Maderesa' tells the story of a cold-blooded criminal psychologist and professor, Maderesa, who digs into unsolved murder cases with the help of Park Seol, a teaching assistant hiding secrets behind an innocent face, and Yoo Aram, a prosecutor and longtime friend, ultimately facing hidden truths and emotions. The series is expected to deliver unprecedented genre entertainment by exquisitely weaving together a thriller surrounding cold cases and the subtle, intensifying emotional currents flowing between the characters along the way.
Actor Nana will take on the role of Maderesa, a criminal psychologist digging into unsolved cases while harboring past trauma, portraying an intense presence and complex inner self. Rising star Kim Dan has been cast as Park Seol, a teaching assistant hiding secrets behind a smile, adding tension to the plot. Actor Jung Gun-joo will play Yoo Aram, a prosecutor and Maderesa's longtime friend, adding depth to the relationships between the characters with delicate emotional lines.
The series will be directed by Jang Young-woo, who has deeply unraveled character narratives in works such as 'Queen of Tears' and 'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls'. The script is penned by writers Kwon So-ra and Seo Jae-won, who have delivered highly immersive stories through works like 'The East Palace' and 'The Guest'.
