Today, September 1st, marking the first day of September, rain is set to continue in the central regions.

Affected by a stationary front, central areas are still seeing light rain at around 5 mm per hour in some places.

Meanwhile, parts of Incheon, southern Gyeonggi Province, southern Gangwon Province, and northern Chungnam are experiencing heavy downpours of 10 to 20 mm per hour, and strong rain in these areas may persist until this morning.

Expected rainfall amounts for today include up to 60 mm in Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi Province, and northern Chungnam, with an additional 5 to 40 mm expected in other central regions.

Most of the precipitation will subside by this afternoon, though rain in the Gangwon region will continue until this evening.

Due to atmospheric instability, southern regions and Jeju Island will see sudden sporadic showers bringing 5 to 40 mm at times today.

Heatwave advisories remain in effect for parts of the south and Jeju Island, with current morning temperatures starting at 23°C (73°F) in Seoul and 26°C (79°F) in Busan.

This afternoon, Seoul's high will reach 27°C (81°F), keeping the heat relatively subdued there. In contrast, southern regions will feel humid and hot, with temperatures climbing to 32°C (90°F) in Jeonju and 33°C (91°F) in Daegu.
