The Bank of Korea has continuously raised its benchmark interest rate, ushering in an era of a 3% base rate. In the U.S., Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh also hinted at interest rate hikes during his Jackson Hole speech.
In both South Korea and the United States, governments are pumping money into the economy through expansionary fiscal policies while central banks are tightening base rates. We examine what kind of impact this will have on our daily lives, including loan rates, inflation, and stock prices moving forward.
