Director Park Chan-wook's new Hollywood project is drawing attention for its star-studded cast.

According to a report by U.S. media outlet Deadline, French actor Adèle Exarchopoulos has confirmed her casting in Director Park Chan-wook's upcoming film "The Axeman of Rattlecreek". Adèle Exarchopoulos is set to play the wife of the gang leader, who will be portrayed by Austin Butler.

Adèle Exarchopoulos received global spotlight when she won the Palme d'Or as the youngest recipient at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 for "Blue Is the Warmest Colour" (directed by Abdellatif Kechiche, shared with Léa Seydoux). Since then, she has built a solid filmography by starring in "Down by Love", "The Racer and the Jailbird", "Sibyl", and "Passages".

"The Axeman of Rattlecreek" depicts the story of a gang that raids a small town in the American West during a heavy downpour, and a sheriff and a doctor who pursue them for revenge. Director Park Chan-wook will direct the film, with the screenplay written by S. Craig Zahler of "Bone Tomahawk". Warner Bros. will handle the North American distribution.

Following previous casting announcements for Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei, the addition of Adèle Exarchopoulos completes a diverse and vibrant cast.

"The Axeman of Rattlecreek" is garnering expectations from the industry both domestically and abroad as it marks Director Park Chan-wook's return to American filmmaking 13 years after "Stoker", as well as his very first Western film in his filmography.
