While heavy and intense rain was concentrated in the southern regions yesterday (August 30), the rain clouds are moving to the central regions today (August 31).

Looking at the current radar imagery, rain is falling mainly in the central and Jeonbuk regions.

In particular, a strong rain cloud has developed in Geumsan, pouring down heavy rain at a rate of around 30mm per hour.

Consequently, heavy rain advisories and warnings have been issued for parts of South Chungcheong Province and western Jeonbuk.

The rain will continue for a while, stopping in the southern and Jeju regions by this evening.

In the central regions, the rain will continue until tomorrow morning (September 1).

Looking at the expected precipitation, heavy downpours of over 150mm are expected in western South Chungcheong Province and over 120mm in western Jeonbuk, while Seoul will receive up to 60mm of rain.

Especially when it rains, it may pour very intensely in narrow areas, so thorough preparations must be made to prevent rain damage.

Heatwave advisories have been lifted for the central regions.

Advisories still remain mainly in the southern regions.

Today, the daytime high in Seoul will be 26°C (79°F), giving the heat a temporary break.

In the southern regions, Busan's daytime high will rise to 34°C (93°F).

Due to the influence of cold air moving down from the north, the heat in the central regions will ease considerably.
