While heavy and intense rain was concentrated mainly in the southern regions yesterday, the rain clouds are moving toward the central regions today.

Looking at the current radar imagery, rain clouds are positioned over the central regions and North Jeolla Province due to the influence of a stationary front.

In particular, hot and humid air is generating stronger rain clouds over North Jeolla Province, bringing heavy rain of around 25mm per hour to Jeonju at the moment.

Let's also check the current advisory and warning status.

Heavy rain advisories are currently in effect, primarily centered around South Chungcheong Province and western North Jeolla Province.

The rain will continue throughout today, but will let up in the southern regions and Jeju Island by tonight.

In the central regions, however, the rain will continue until tomorrow morning.

Looking at the expected rainfall amounts through tomorrow, more than 150mm of heavy rain is expected in western South Chungcheong Province, and over 120mm in western North Jeolla Province.

Additionally, more than 80mm of rain is expected in southern Gyeonggi Province and the inland central-southern parts of Gangwon Province, with up to 60mm of heavy rain in Seoul.

The rain will be accompanied by sudden gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning.

As it may pour very heavily at times, thorough preparations must be made to prevent any rain-related damage.

Heatwave warnings and advisories in the central regions have been lifted.

However, sweltering heat continues, centered around the southern regions.

Today, the daytime high in Seoul will reach 26°C (79°F), offering some relief from the heat.

Meanwhile, temperatures in the southern regions, such as Busan, will climb up to 34°C (93°F).

While the heat in the central regions has eased due to cold air moving down from the north, the sweltering heat in the southern regions will persist.
