The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced that it has successfully completed the system development of the "Armored Medical Evacuation Vehicle," designed to enhance the survivability of military personnel and significantly boost medical evacuation support capabilities.

This specialized armored vehicle is engineered to safely rescue wounded soldiers from frontline battlefields and high-risk areas facing enemy gunfire or artillery threats, while providing professional first aid and remote medical support during evacuation to rear hospitals.

Standard or commercial ambulances currently operated by the military for medical evacuation have low mobility and face limitations in protection, overcoming rugged terrain, and off-road driving, making it difficult to provide emergency evacuation support close to combat units.

The newly developed armored medical evacuation vehicle is based on the already proven "wheeled command post vehicle," equipping it with superior mobility and protective capabilities.

Inside the vehicle, various medical devices are installed, including stretcher transport systems, oxygen supply equipment, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). It is also equipped with an overpressure system to protect against nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) contamination, further elevating the survivability of troops.

DAPA stated that it plans to prepare for mass production so that the armored medical evacuation vehicles can be delivered to the military in a timely manner.
