As a result of verifying the video through reverse image search, it was confirmed to be footage from the massive flood that occurred in northern Uttarakhand, India, in August of last year.

At the time, it frequently appeared in foreign media outlets such as the BBC.

This was also captioned as a scene from the Nepal disaster, but it was actually footage of the damage from the Atami landslide in Japan in July 2021.

This video of a house completely sinking and washing away was filmed during the Yellowstone National Park flood in the United States in June 2022, while the video of earth and sand engulfing a village and sweeping away even a car was confirmed to be AI-generated.

When viewed in slow motion, AI-specific unnatural movements also become apparent.

Some create and share false videos to gain attention, while others do it for fun.

However, in disaster situations, it does not end as simple misinformation.

There is a risk that it may hinder actual rescue operations.

This is because in the early stages of a disaster, when it is difficult to know where and how severe the damage is, it can cause confusion in rescue priorities and lead to a waste of resources.

In fact, Hurricane Harvey in the US in 2017 and the Kerala flood disaster in India the following year are cited as cases where rescues were delayed due to confusion caused by fake videos.
