The first-instance ruling for Unification Church leader Hak Ja Han, who was indicted on charges of "collusion between politics and religion" with the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, will be delivered today (August 31).

Han is accused of handing over 100 million won in cash to People Power Party lawmaker Kweon Seong-dong around the time of the 20th presidential election and making "split donations" totaling 140 million won to lawmakers affiliated with the People Power Party.

She is also facing charges of delivering expensive luxury goods, such as a Graff necklace, to Kim Keon-hee.

The special counsel team previously sought a 13-year prison sentence for Han.
