Additional remains of a Chinese exchange student who was killed in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, have been recovered. Police plan to hold a committee soon to decide whether to disclose the personal identity of the suspect, a Chinese university lecturer.

A 30-something Chinese lecturer surnamed Jeong has been arrested on charges of murdering a Chinese graduate student who was his former pupil.

Police recovered additional body parts while searching the location where Jeong stated he had mutilated and abandoned the body.

On the evening of the 21st, the day after the crime, Jeong falsely reported to the police that his girlfriend had gone missing. CCTV footage also captured him throwing away the mutilated body in a black plastic bag near a garbage collection point close to his home about four hours before making the report.

As the disposal sites are widespread, police have secured data on Jeong's vehicle GPS and travel routes to track his movements.

Police investigations indicate that Jeong is giving relatively specific statements regarding where he abandoned the body.

It was previously found that immediately after the crime, Jeong tried to mislead the investigation by staging the victim's movements, such as dressing in women's clothing and traveling to Dongdaegu Station while carrying the victim's mobile phone.

Initially, police planned to deploy profilers to conduct a psychopath checklist test, but it was not carried out as Jeong refused.

Taking into account the brutality of the crime, police plan to reattempt the psychopath evaluation and hold a committee to disclose Jeong's personal information.
