A man in his 50s died while snorkeling near a breakwater in Sinam-ri, Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, at around 12:35 PM today (August 30).

According to the Ulsan Fire Headquarters and the Ulsan Coast Guard, the man asked his companion for help while snorkeling, shouting, "Throw me a tube quickly."

His companion threw him a tube, but it was found that the man had already lost consciousness.

The man was rescued by police and fire authorities responding to the report and was transferred to a nearby hospital, but ultimately passed away.

The Ulsan Coast Guard is investigating the exact cause of death.
