A man in his 40s who was arrested for causing a multi-vehicle hit-and-run accident while driving a Maserati under the influence in the area of Bangbang Intersection in Seocho-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a motorcycle rider, will undergo a warrant hearing today (the 30th).
The Seoul Suseo Police Station announced that the substantive warrant hearing for the man in his 40s, identified by his surname A, who faces charges of drunk driving, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Seoul Central District Court.
At around 11:40 p.m. on the 27th, A drove his Maserati while heavily intoxicated and successively collided with a motorcycle, a bus, and a taxi traveling ahead of him.
At the time of the accident, A's blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.
Due to the accident, the motorcycle rider, a man in his 40s, was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest and ultimately passed away.
Three others, including a bus passenger, a taxi driver, and a pedestrian, sustained minor injuries.
Police emergency-arrested A at the scene and applied for an arrest warrant yesterday.
