A fire broke out at a scrapyard in Daehwa-dong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, at around 9:50 a.m. today (August 30).

While there were no casualties, thick smoke accompanied the flames, prompting a series of reports to 119.

Authorities have determined that the fire burned or scorched approximately 30 end-of-life vehicles stored at the site.

Fire authorities completely extinguished the blaze about two hours and twenty minutes after receiving the report and are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the property damage.
