Police investigating the murder of a Chinese international student in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, have additionally recovered parts of the victim's body.

The Gyeongsan Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province announced on the 30th that they found parts of the victim's body while searching the body abandonment site described by the murder suspect, surnamed Jeong.

Reports indicate that Jeong is currently being relatively cooperative in police questioning regarding the locations where the body was abandoned.

Although police have discovered additional body parts, they plan to continue the search to recover as much of the remaining body as possible without wrapping it up just yet.

A police official stated, "Just because we found something in a certain spot doesn't mean we end the search; we must continue to check," adding, "It seems difficult to recover all of the abandoned body parts before handing him over to the prosecutors."

Police have also secured GPS data tracking Jeong's movement routes during the body abandonment process to analyze his whereabouts before and after the crime.

However, police stated that they cannot disclose the specific details of Jeong's statements or his motive for the crime.

After wrapping up remaining investigation procedures such as analyzing seized items, verifying the suspect's statements, and recovering the body, police are considering forwarding Jeong to the prosecution sometime next week.

The exact date for his transfer has not yet been finalized.

Jeong, a part-time university lecturer in the Gyeongsan area, was arrested on charges including murder for allegedly killing a female Chinese international student who had once attended his class at his residence on the 20th and desecrating her body.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crime and the body abandonment process based on evidence secured from Jeong's residence and other locations, as well as the suspect's statements.
