Today (August 29), the final weekend of August, rain will gradually expand nationwide.

Somewhat heavy rain is currently falling in regions south of Chungcheong.

Starting tomorrow, a stationary front will form, bringing heavy downpours to the Chungcheong and southern regions.

Looking at the expected rainfall amounts through tonight, the Seoul metropolitan area will see 5 to 20 mm, while the southern regions will receive up to 60 mm.

The expected rainfall will be even heavier from tomorrow through the day after tomorrow.

South Chungcheong and northwestern North Jeolla will experience localized, intense, and heavy downpours exceeding 200 mm in some areas, while North Chungcheong will see over 150 mm. Southern Gyeonggi will receive up to 100 mm, and Seoul is expected to get 10 to 60 mm of rain.

In particular, heavy downpours will hit regions south of Chungcheong starting early tomorrow morning.

Chungcheong and the Honam regions could see torrential rain falling at rates of over 50 mm per hour, requiring special caution against safety accidents.

As the rain falls, tomorrow morning's low is expected to be 22°C (72°F) in Chungju. Tomorrow's daytime high in Seoul will be 28°C (82°F), lower than today, but the southern regions, such as Busan, will see temperatures rise to around 33°C (91°F) as the oppressive heat continues.

This rain will continue through the night of next Monday.

In the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province, the rain will experience lulls in many areas from tomorrow morning until early the day after tomorrow.
