Men's Volleyball Team Beats Bahrain 3-1 in Friendly Led by Im Dong-hyuk and Huh Soo-bong

The South Korean men's national volleyball team secured a sweet victory in a friendly match against Bahrain ahead of the 2026 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Led by head coach Isanaye Ramirez, the national team (ranked 26th in the world) defeated Bahrain (ranked 44th) 3 sets to 1 (28-26, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23) in the first match of the South Korea-Bahrain 50th Diplomatic Anniversary Commemorative Men's National Volleyball Team Friendly 2026, held today at Yu Gwan-sun Gymnasium in Cheonan.

Im Dong-hyuk (Korean Air Jumbos) led the victory with 18 points and Huh Soo-bong (Hyundai Capital Skywalkers) added 13 points, while Lim Sung-jin (Armed Forces Athletic Corps) and Jeong Han-yong (Korean Air Jumbos) contributed 9 points each.

The national team will play the second friendly match against Bahrain at 2:00 PM tomorrow at the same venue.

After this match, the team will head to Fukuoka, Japan, to compete in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Asian Championship starting on the 4th of next month, followed immediately by the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
