The body of an unidentified male has been discovered in the landing gear bay of an aircraft that arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia from Tokyo, Japan.

According to local Malaysian media outlet The Star and other reports on the 27th local time, the body was found in the wheel well of an aircraft that arrived at Terminal 2 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport at around 6:30 a.m. that day, prompting an investigation by local police.

Airline maintenance staff noticed a strange foul odor coming from the right landing gear of the aircraft and inspected the inside of the wheel well, where they discovered a man lying face down wearing a white hoodie and light-colored jeans, and reported the finding to the police.

No identification documents or papers confirming his identity were found on the body.

It was reported that no distinct external injuries were found either.

Police stated that initial investigation results estimated the deceased to be between 17 and 25 years old, and that he may have been dead for more than 72 hours.

His identity and nationality have not been confirmed.

Police reportedly concluded that it is difficult to determine whether the man entered the aircraft's landing gear compartment of his own accord.

Police plan to conduct a thorough investigation into the man's identity, the cause of death, and the circumstances under which he ended up in the airplane's wheel well.
