Police have urgently arrested a woman in her 20s, referred to as A, on charges of setting fire to the home where she lived.

A is suspected of setting fire to a mattress in her home on the second floor of a four-story multi-family housing building in Hagik-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, at around 1:45 p.m. yesterday (August 28).

At the time, no one else was inside the home, so the incident did not lead to casualties.

Six residents from the same multi-family building evacuated with the assistance of firefighters.

The fire was completely extinguished in about 30 minutes.

After starting the fire, A fled the scene but was apprehended by police near her residence yesterday evening.

Police plan to investigate A regarding the motive behind the fire and the specific details of the incident.
