A Vietnamese exchange student in his 20s has been arrested on charges of murdering a female compatriot in her 20s who attended the same university in Busan and robbing her of money.
Judge Um Ji-a of the Busan District Court issued an arrest warrant today (August 28) for the 20s Vietnamese male, identified as A, who faces charges of robbery and murder.
Judge Um explained the reason for issuing the warrant, stating, "There is a concern that he may flee."
A is accused of breaking into the home of a 20-something Vietnamese woman, identified as B, in Jung-gu, Busan, at around 1:15 a.m. the day before yesterday, threatening her with a weapon, binding her mouth and hands with tape, robbing her of cash, and then murdering her.
The two were reportedly acquaintances who attended the same university in Busan.
Police urgently arrested A at a hospital in Sasang-gu, Busan, on the day of the crime.
