Hello, everyone. Concerns are growing over potential secondary floods in the border region between Nepal and China, where a catastrophic flood disaster occurred. With glacial debris and rocks still piled up upstream, the situation remains unpredictable as to when they might breach again. In fact, an additional flood warning was issued at the disaster site today, prompting recovery workers and our reporting team to evacuate urgently.

First, correspondent Han Sang-woo reports on the situation from Trishuli, Nepal.

In the Trishuli area of Nuwakot District, Nepal, which suffered the heaviest flood damage, an alarm suddenly sounds this afternoon while recovery work is in full swing.

["It's dangerous! Everyone out!"]

[Flood recovery worker: ("Another flood is coming?") Yes, that's right. So we have to get out. Police are evacuating residents from this area."]

Urgent evacuation orders were issued not only to heavy machinery and recovery workers, but also to the reporting team and everyone else.

[Flood recovery worker: "Everyone must move to higher ground."]

Residents who had returned to the disaster-stricken area hurriedly ran toward higher ground, and a resident staying in a house that narrowly escaped the massive flood three days ago struggled to evacuate with a family member who has mobility issues.

Instead of recovery and search efforts, disaster victims startled by the secondary flood warning were left utterly devastated.

[Flood victim: "My farm where I farmed and my office are all gone. There is nothing left now."]

About two hours after the evacuation notice, rushing water and sediment came down from the mountain into the river channel of the Trishuli area, and an increase in the river water level was observed.

Due to concerns over additional flooding, police are restricting access in the disaster area by removing all remaining people.

It is reported that debris blocking the waterways on the Chinese Tibetan side of the Nepal-China border region collapsed, causing the pooled water to overflow and cascade down the valley once again.

As evacuation orders were issued in advance this time, no casualties have been reported yet.
