A man in his 20s working as a delivery worker has been transferred to prosecutors in custody for returning to a woman's home a month after delivering food there and attempting to sexually assault her.

He targeted the victim after realizing she lived alone during a previous delivery.

The Seoul Mapo Police Station announced that it forwarded the 20s male, surnamed A, to prosecutors on the 11th on charges of attempted rape by house trespassing.

A is accused of breaking into the home of a woman in her 20s of Vietnamese nationality, surnamed B, in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd and attempting to sexually assault her.

It was revealed that A, who worked as a delivery worker, had previously delivered food to B's home about a month before the crime.

A later realized that B lived alone and returned to her home. He entered through the front door, which was left open due to the hot weather, and attempted to sexually assault B.

However, acquaintances of B were inside the house at the time and immediately reported the incident to the police, leaving the crime unfinished as an attempt.

Police tracked A's movements using nearby CCTV footage and emergency-arrested him on the 6th.

The court held a pre-trial detention hearing for A on the 8th and issued an arrest warrant.
