As the Presidential National Education Commission is pursuing reforms to the college admission system, including the introduction of essay-type questions in the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), some 200 citizens have gathered for a two-day debate.

The commission announced that it will hold a deliberative discussion on the future college admission system for two days, tomorrow (the 29th) and the day after, at a training center in Hwaseong.

Out of 500 members of the National Participation Committee, 203 who applied to participate in the debate will discuss the direction of college admission system reforms in preparation for future society.

The discussions are expected to primarily address key components of the reform proposals, such as the introduction of essay-type evaluations in the CSAT and the expansion of essay-type evaluations in internal school records.

After studying briefing materials received in advance, the committee members will participate in six discussion sessions within small groups consisting of diverse participants.

The results of the discussion will be reported to the National Education Commission and then made public.
