Fines of up to 5 million won will be imposed starting today (the 28th) for blocking apartment or commercial parking lot entrances with vehicles and obstructing traffic.

Under the revised law, if someone parks a vehicle at the entrance of an off-street or attached parking lot and obstructs the entry and exit of other vehicles, parking lot managers can demand that the vehicle be moved. Failure to comply will result in a fine of 1 million won for the first violation, 2 million won for the second, and 5 million won for the third or subsequent violations.

Fines will also be imposed on vehicles left abandoned for long periods in public free parking lots, and activities such as camping by setting up tents or cooking in public parking lots are prohibited.
