Police have launched an investigation following a report that a person presumed to be a cross-dressing man unlawfully entered a girls' high school and wandered around the campus.

According to media reports compiled today (August 28), a 112 emergency call was received on August 26 stating that "a man in women's disguise entered a school" at a girls' high school in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

Upon checking closed-circuit (CC) TV footage, dispatched police officers found that at 4:51 PM on August 25, a person wearing a bobbed wig and facial makeup entered the school through an open entrance and wandered around each floor for about 40 minutes.

It was reported that the individual mentioned their identity to students present at the school at the time, claiming to be a graduate of Middle School A in Bangok-dong, Wonju.

Police are tracking the whereabouts of the suspect whose identity has been identified and plan to investigate charges including trespassing on a structure as soon as they secure custody.

Additionally, as similar trespassing circumstances were confirmed at Middle School A, police plan to verify whether the person who entered the two schools is the same individual.

Meanwhile, the girls' high school in Wonju notified students and parents of the details of the incident and the school's response measures through school broadcasting and family correspondence letters.
