Nationwide rainfall is expected to drench the country through this weekend.

While sporadic rain is currently falling mainly centered around the east coast and southern regions, some parts of the southern regions and Jeju are experiencing heavy downpours of around 10 to 20 mm per hour.

Today, August 28, heavy rain of up to around 80 mm is expected in areas south of Chungcheong and southern Gangwon.

The greater Seoul area and northern Gangwon may see sudden showers ranging from 5 to 50 mm between morning and evening.

Caution is advised as large amounts of moisture flowing in from the south with this precipitation could cause heavy rain to concentrate over short periods.

As the rain falls, heat advisories will gradually be lifted or eased.

Most areas are currently starting off at around 25°C (77°F).

This afternoon, temperatures in Seoul will reach 32°C (90°F), similar to yesterday, while Daegu and Gwangju will drop to 31°C (88°F).

Heavy rain is expected nationwide through the weekend as well.

In the southern regions and Jeju, the rain will continue until Monday.
