The death toll from the massive floods in Nepal has risen to 362, with 1,468 people still missing. It is still impossible to gauge how much further the scale of the damage will grow.

Himalayan gorges are entirely covered in muddy water.

A helicopter sweeps low between collapsed mountain slopes in search of survivors.

On the third day since the catastrophic flooding occurred near the border between Gyirong County in China's Tibet Autonomous Region and Rasuwa in northern Nepal, the scale of the damage is spiraling out of control.

In Nepal's Bagmati Province, 100 missing Indian tourists and 25 Chinese workers were found dead.

The death toll compiled by Nepal has increased to 359, with 910 people missing.

China announced that 3 people have died and 558 are missing in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Combining the announcements from both countries, the number of dead or missing exceeds 1,800.

However, because most of the affected areas are still buried under mud, even assessing the exact human casualties remains difficult.

Because the disaster-hit region is close to Hindu holy sites and popular as a trekking route, a significant number of the missing are foreigners from some 30 countries, including India, the United States, and the British Isles.

Dozens of bridges and nine hydroelectric power plants have been destroyed, and residential facilities, schools, and hospitals have been washed away, leaving the affected areas practically in ruins. However, rescue operations are facing difficulties due to the rugged terrain and cut-off roads in various places.
