A Chinese university lecturer in his 30s suspected of murdering a female Chinese international student has been arrested. Following the brutal crime of mutilating and abandoning the body, police are considering conducting a psychopath test on the suspect, surnamed Jeong.

A man holding a black plastic bag in one hand calmly walks somewhere while looking at his smartphone.

This is Jeong, a Chinese university lecturer suspected of murdering a female Chinese international student.

A short while later, the place Jeong arrives at is a garbage collection site.

Police believe that this plastic bag contained parts of the victim's body.

This is the road in front of Jeong's home.

Jeong, who abandoned parts of the body at this garbage collection site just 100 meters away from his home, is suspected of having abandoned body parts across the country, including not only here but also the Gyeongju Bomun Complex and Gyeonggi Province.

[Police Official: Some have been found. Once we identify locations where additional [bodies] might have been abandoned, that's the part we need to search.]

Jeong is reportedly claiming that he was in a romantic relationship with the deceased woman.

However, the victim's family members are pushing back, stating that she has a boyfriend in China.

The possibility of stalking-related crimes cannot be ruled out either.

The court issued an arrest warrant for Jeong during the pre-trial detention hearing, citing concerns that he might flee.

Finding it suspicious that only parts of the victim's body remained inside the house and that he filed a missing person report immediately after abandoning the body, police are considering administering a psychopath test to Jeong.
