Samsung Lions veteran Choi Hyung-woo, the oldest active hitter in professional baseball, is keeping his bat hot today (August 27). Led by Choi, second-place Samsung is aiming for its fourth consecutive win.

At 42, the oldest active player in the league, Choi smashed a game-winning grand slam over the center-field wall against the Kiwoom Heroes in Gocheok yesterday, breaking the KBO record for the oldest player to hit a grand slam.

His bat remains hot today.

With a 1-0 lead in the top of the 3th inning with no outs and runners on first and third, he skillfully scooped up a forkball from Kiwoom starting pitcher Ha Young-min, driving in two runs with a double to right-center.

Samsung extended its lead with an RBI single by Kim Sung-yun in the 4th inning, and with a grand slam by Diaz in the 6th, they hold a commanding 8-0 lead, eyeing their fourth straight victory.

Second-place Samsung is trailing league leader KT by half a game, and the two teams are set to clash for the top spot in Daegu starting tomorrow.

Third-place LG, struggling with a wave of injuries to its pitchers, is suffering a heavy loss against NC as second-year starter Park Si-won failed to make it out of the 2nd inning today, giving up 6 runs.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yup's concerns are deepening as even Song Seung-ki, scheduled to start tomorrow, was sidelined by injury today.
