20s Vietnamese Student Arrested for Murdering Young Woman in Busan and Going to Hospital

A Vietnamese student who fled after murdering a female compatriot has been apprehended by the police.

Busan Jungbu Police Station announced on the 27th that it is investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges including murder.

A is suspected of breaking into the home of a woman in her 20s, B, located in Jung-gu, Busan, at around 1:15 AM on the 26th, threatening her with a weapon, binding her mouth and hands with tape, and strangling her to death while robbing her of cash.

The two were known to have been acquainted while attending a university in Busan.

According to the police, an acquaintance of B visited B's home around lunchtime on the day of the incident after failing to get in touch with her, discovered B dead in the bathroom, and reported it.

Tracing the suspect, the police urgently arrested A at 6:15 PM on the day of the crime while he was receiving treatment at a hospital in Sasang-gu, Busan.

It was reported that A had gone to the hospital after injuring himself in the process of committing the crime.

The police are investigating A to determine the exact motive behind the crime and plan to apply for an arrest warrant soon.
