President Lee Jae-myung publicly encouraged officials today (the 27th) who cleared out illegal facilities near the valleys of Palgongsan National Park in Daegu, stating, "You have truly accomplished a major task."

President Lee shared related media reports on his social media today and wrote this message.

President Lee added, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude and encouragement to all executives and employees of the Korea National Park Service for your hard work. It took decades to do what naturally should have been done, which shows just how difficult it is," and urged, "Please convey my thanks and encouragement so that public officials will work hard to properly clear out other national parks and valleys across the country until the end."

Recently, the Korea National Park Service, under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, completed the cleanup of the valley near Dohak-dong, Palgongsan, which had been illegally used as an outdoor prayer site by shamans for about 70 years.

The service cooperated with relevant agencies to prompt voluntary removal and eviction by the occupants, and demolished the remaining illegal facilities.

It was found that a total of 17 species of wildlife have since returned to the Palgongsan valley, including 6 species of mammals and 11 species of birds, such as the yellow-throated marten and the northern goshawk, both designated as endangered wildlife Class II.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning, President Lee shared a report that the Joint Response Team to Eradicate Stock Manipulation had raided the Hanmi Accounting Corporation, writing, "Illegal trading in the stock market is no longer tolerated."
