A university lecturer in his 30s of Chinese nationality, surnamed Jung, has been arrested on charges of murdering a Chinese female exchange student.

Judge Hwang In-jun, the senior judge in charge of warrants at the Daegu District Court, issued the arrest warrant for Jung following a pre-arrest interrogation of the suspect.

Judge Hwang stated the reason for issuing the warrant, citing "concerns that he may flee."

Jung is accused of murdering a female Chinese exchange student in her 20s and mutilating her body at his residence in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, in the early hours of the 20th.
